Middle Management… hindering sustainability? How they can help
Session time slot
  • Session TU3 | Tuesday 16 March | 14:00-14:45
Synopsis
WHY ATTEND:
At the end of this round table you will have gained a deeper understanding of the challenges around engaging your middle management and how to take the next steps so they help you. This facilitated session you enable you to learn and share with the other participants as well as receive guidance from the table host, Adam Woodhall of PeopleProfitPlanet.

THE CONTEXT:
Your CEO/MD and board are fully signed up to the carbon reduction agenda. Grassroots staff are contributing to your sustainability. But your environmental journey is not moving at the pace you would like. Could it be that Middle Management are (maybe unconsciously) holding up the change process?

There is a lot of pressure on middle management, both from above and below. Whilst personally they may agree that going green is a good thing, when it comes to the day to day pressures of your organisation they perceive the sustainability agenda as just another burden. Middle management can therefore block the progress of environmental good practice. It is critical to the short and long term success of your plans that you engage and gain their support

ACTION PLAN:
At the end you will go away with a mini-action plan for engaging your middle management.
