Future Proofing Facilities Management Professionals Through Education
Session time slot
  • Session WE3 | Wednesday 17 March | 12:00-12:45
Synopsis
The BIFM is the natural home of facilities management in the UK representing those who practice in facilities management and who work in organisations providing facilities management goods and services. Since its formation in 1993, the BIFM has remained one of the fastest growing professional bodies in the UK and second largest in the world.

Facilities management has grown enormously over the last decade and has been driven by factors such as the shape of the economy, legislation and sustainability to name but a few. These influencing factors have also driven the demands for skills needed in the facilities management industry.

With a strong emphasis on advancing the facilities management profession, the BIFM has helped to inform decision makers and improve the industry through the introduction of a range of qualifications and training to suit individual needs.

This round table will be an opportunity to explore together how individual careers can be shaped and advanced through education, and how the changing accountability of the FM and the acquisition of new skills remain at the forefront of progressing professionally.
