Gain support from your staff to fly less and travel more sustainably
Session time slot
  • Session WE1 | Wednesday 17 March | 09:40-10:25
Synopsis
Come along to our round table to hear about the most effective strategies to get buy in and persuade your staff to reduce their travel. Share ideas and best practice with other companies which have been able to cut costs, save carbon and become more efficient from changing travel practices.

WWF-UK’s One in Five Challenge is a guided award scheme that helps companies reduce their business flights by 20% within five years. It shows that it is possible for companies to work efficiently and save time and money without the hassle of flying.

As part of the One in Five Challenge, we work with companies to help them engage their directors and staff, as well as increase travel policy compliance.

At this round table, you will have the opportunity to hear how our members of the Challenge are achieving buy-in from directors and staff to fly less. You will also have the opportunity to share your own experiences and learn from each other.

We will also look at how new technologies are improving the user experience of video and audio conferencing and how lower carbon alternatives, such as rail, can enable more efficient working on the move. We will also provide information on what type of meetings these different technologies are appropriate for.

We hope you will find this session useful. WWF-UK is a thought leader in engaging companies to meet their corporate social responsibility aims – we were recently named one of the top two NGOs when it comes to advising businesses on sustainability issues in a survey of 30 FTSE 100 CSR executives.

This session will be a useful opportunity for you to discuss, with WWF-UK and with each other, the ways in which you can achieve a more sustainable travel policy with the buy-in from your staff.
